Job Type: Full-Time/Part-Time
The Behavioral Health Technician (BHT-ABA) provides one-on-one applied behavior analysis (ABA) services to individuals in the home, community, and/or school setting(s). The BHT is responsible for implementing interventions and recording data while under direct supervision from a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA).
The BHT will:
- Quickly form therapeutic relationships with child/adolescent population based on
understanding of developmental process and emotional needs
- Form effective working relationships with diverse clients, school staff, family members
and stakeholders
- Work effectively with a team-oriented environment
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries and confidentiality
- Demonstrate initiative, problem solving, and follow-through
- Independently assess and record data to report behavioral outcomes and
intervention results to treatment team
- Demonstrate knowledge, application, and adherence to CASSP principles
- Effectively and independently communicate treatment objectives and interventions to
youth, family, school staff and other treatment team members
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a broad variety of people, including other team members and management
- Follow the ABSS documentation policy, call out policy, and other policies
Staff Qualifications:
- Minimum high school diploma
- Understanding basic principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA)
- Experience working with children and/or children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder
- Reliable transportation (public transportation or personal vehicle)
- The ability to pass FBA, child abuse, and criminal background checks
- The ability to keep up to date with required training as they are assigned
- Knowledge of crisis management techniques
- Ability to lift 30 pounds
